The symposium theme is “Game On: The Next Era of Sports Law,” and will feature three panels and a keynote conversation with Bruce Meyer, Executive Director of the MLB Players Association, led by Professor Jodi Balsam.

Panelists are Meeka Bondy (BLS ’92), media/IP attorney formerly with HBO and Time Warner; Len Elmore, faculty at Columbia Sports Management program and former NBA player; Derek Heuzey (BLS ’09), General Counsel of the YES Network; and Ian Sigalow, Senior Counsel at Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment (Nets, Liberty, Barclay’s Center). This panel will examine how changes in television, streaming, and digital media have reshaped the legal and commercial landscape of sports broadcasting and media rights.

Lastly, the third panel, co-sponsored by Brooklyn Law School’s Legal Association for Women, is titled “Capitalizing on Women’s Sports” and will be moderated by Rebecca Darin Goldberg, a senior associate at Hogan Lovells Cadwalader whose practice focuses on the sports, gaming, media, and entertainment industries. Panelists are Matt Carpenter-Dennis, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett; Kori Clanton, OneTeam Partners; Ronelle C. Porter, Loeb & Loeb; and Camil Sanchez-Palumbo, National Women’s Soccer League.
